A letter to my mother
Dear mom,
Today, I understand you and respect you much more than I ever did. Its not that God has blessed me with great wisdom to do so, its just that he has put me in the same place that you stand.
As a young,innocent girl, I had formed a deep grudge against you for wanting a son, more than you cherished a daughter.I am a mother of a girl now.Hence,I understand why it was.
As a young, silly adolescent, I hated you for not letting me, be a free bird.I am a mother of a growing up son.Hence, I understand why it was.
As a female of marrigeable age, I despised you for pushing me for timely marriage.I am loosing upon my health now.Hence, I understand why it was.
As a married woman, I disliked you for taking a stand against your husband,at times.Today, I am a wife of a traditional minded husband .Hence, I understand why it was.
But now that I am a mother myself, neither I hate you nor despise, neither I dislike you nor do I hold any grudges against you.All that I do now is to love you, understand you and respect you.
